GMC honors mothers and motherly figure Pam Grant

Georgia Military College (GMC) celebrated Mother’s Day last Friday inside the Center for Leadership. Beginning the ceremony, a number of cadets earned the Service Leadership Award, recognizing GMC students who have volunteered at least 100 hours of community service in a year.

Early voting ends Friday; election day is Tuesday

There are four contested races on the Republican, Democratic, and Non-Partisan ballots in Baldwin County this Tuesday, May 21, and it is possible only one will be decided that day. Voters in Baldwin County’s Districts 4 and 5 will each choose among three candidates for seats on the Baldwin County Board of Commissioners in the Republican Primary, while in District 3 there will be two choices for a seat on the Board of Education in the Non-Partisan General Election.

BOC hears updates on county projects, general session

The Baldwin County Board of Commissioners met May 7 to hear updates about the General Session and approve three fiscal matters. Baldwin County’s Legislative Delegation, Senator Rick Williams and representative Mack Jackson, spoke for the majority of the meeting to debrief commissioners on discussions and approvals made during the General Session.
